Albums not displaying

Jul 24, 2012 7:22 AM

Tags: #elements #albums

I'm using Elements 6 and have been creating albums for some time. However, as of a few months ago even though the photos have the various albums assigned to them, they do not display when I select the album to view.

Any help appreciated as I cannot bear the thought of having to re-categorise over 20,000 images!

Are these smart albums based on keywords where you have possibly made changes affecting the original criteria?

I suppose the catalog could have got corrupted. Do you have a PSE back-up?

What actually happens when you click on an item in the album list. Do you get the binoculars icon for the active album. Is the browser window completely empty?

You obviously have all the images so its just a question of adding the album tags to the newest. I would suggest starting with import batch view. You can switch to it by clicking the Display button near the top right of Organizer.

For what it's worth, you can always try File...Catalog to open the Catalog Manager.  Highlight your catalog in the bottom section, and hit the "Repair" button.  When that finishes, repeat using the "Optimize" button.

Yes Kens suggestion will do no harm If you get the message nothing to repair -- click repair anyway.
