Is there an option to select whereas the magazine (multi folio) will be on the Newsstand or as a standalone app, does Apple allow this?

Thanks

If you intend to include auto renewable subscriptions in your App, the Newsstand is the option for you. In case your app does not have auto renewable subscriptions, it would be a non newsstand application.

In Viewer Builder, select the one which suits your requirements - Viewer Type 'Multi Issue' would be Non-Newsstand whereas 'Multi issue with i-Tunes Subscriptions' can be Newsstand Apps.

    hi,

is it possible to develop a stand alone app for a Magazine, rather then a Newstand App, and still use Auto-Renewable In App purchase items?

    thanks in advance!

You can create a multi-folio app or a subscription app that is not enabled for Newsstand.

    Hi Bob,

thanks for your answer. Do you know if the auto-renewable iTunes Subscription would still be available for a stand alone app/multifolio?

From Himanshu's answer above it seems like if you want subscriptions you MUST be in the newsstand.

    Thanks

Newsstand apps must be subscription apps, but subscription apps don't have to be in Newsstand.
