InDesign CS5.5 - Update Error U44M1P7

Jul 24, 2012 11:19 AM

Hello,

I've been trying to install Adobe InDesign Update 7.5.3 and it reports error U44M1P7. I've reinstalled InDesign and receive the same error. I've noticed some other Adobe products with the same issue and I've tried all of the solutions to see if it would assist my InDesign problem. I am also getting an error that mentioned InDesign does not recognize InCopy.Bridge.InDesignPlugin.

Upgrading to CS6 is not an option for me at this point.

Any assistance with this would be great.

Thank you!

Please follow these steps to generate a log file so that we can tell the root cause.

    On Windows:

    1. Open Command Prompt window.

    2. Run command: cd %temp%

    3. Run command: echo > ribs3debug

    4. After that a new file named "ribs3debug" should have been created in temp folder.

    5. Update InDesign CS5.5, via Adobe Application Manager or running updater installer manually.

    6. The log file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\Adobe InDesign CS5.5 7.5.3.333 07-25-2012.log.gz" will be created. (The version number and date may be slightly different)

    On Mac:

    1. Open a Terminal window.

    2. Run command: cd /tmp

    3. Run command: touch ribs3debug

    4. After that a new file named "ribs3debug" should have been created in /tmp folder.

    5. Update InDesign CS5.5, via Adobe Application Manager or running updater installer manually.

    6. The new log file "/Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers/Adobe InDesign CS5.5 7.5.3.333 07-25-2012.log.gz" will be created.

The actual plain text log file can be extracted from the generated gz file using 7-zip, winzip or other similar softwares. Please paste the log file here for the troubleshooting.

You must have deleted all non-English resource files in InDesign. Did you delete them after you had reinstalled InDesign? The following error message appeared for more than 20 languages:

ERROR: DW023: The extension payload: {07209C1E-7A2A-11E1-9EF9-5B5DF24106A5} Adobe InDesign CS5.5 Application Language Files_7.5.3.333_AdobeInDesign7xAppLang-fi_FI 7.5.3.333 requires a parent with following specification:

        Family: InDesign

ProductName: Adobe InDesign CS5.5 Application Language Files_AdobeInDesign7xAppLang-fi_FI

        MinVersion: 0.0.0.0

This parent relationship is not satisfied, because this payload is not present in this session.

Besides fi_FI (Finnish), there are fr_CA (Canadian French), de_DE (German), ja_JP (Japanese), etc.

You can copy back all files you have deleted from other machine then retry update, or you have to reinstall InDesign then update.
