Flash Player in Chrome stops working spontaneously

I use Chrome (21.0.1180.49 beta) on an Intel Core 2 Duo Mac (10.6.8). My Flash Player (version 11.3.300.265) is fine most of the time, but occasionally it will stop working for no apparent reason. All flash videos show up as blank boxes (I don't even get an error message) and the Adobe page that is supposed to display my Flash version also comes up as a blank box. I can hear sound and watch the videos in fullscreen mode, but the embedded ones are all empty.

This problem exists in Firefox as well. However, if I restart my browser (Chrome or Firefox), Flash Player operates normally...until it spontaneously stops working again. It never crashed the page or anything, I just can't play flash videos. Please help me figure out what's causing this issue. Thanks so much!
