Autoplay Image Slideshow problems

I'm building several pages for an iPad app and am having some odd issues with image slideshows set to autoplay.
The idea is that an image would fade in when the user navigates to a page, I've set this up using a transparent box as the first object state and the image as the second. I've set the 2 states up as a slidehow using the settings shown in the image attached below.
It works, but the problem is the speed of the slideshow on the Adobe Content Viewer app - it can vary wildly. On some pages the image can appear instantly, on others it takes much longer, even though all the settings are the same. Does anyone know why this might be happening?
Another unrelated question: within the Adobe Content Viewer app, the speed of navigating between pages (swiping or tapping links) can vary a lot too, sometimes it's instant, sometimes there's a huge delay between the touch input and anything happening.
Not sure if these issues are limited to the Adobe Content Viewer app - might the problems disappear when a final app file is built? For both questions I'm viewing on the new iPad. Any help appreciated!
