typing on a path

How do you type a headline on a curved path so it looks like a smile? I created a oval shape, clicked the type on a path tool, created the insertion point, and typed but I can only get it to type the headline right to left instead of left to right. Must be something I'm not clicking.

Can you show us a screen shot? Sounds like you need to move the type to the other side of the path.

I don't really have anything on the screen except a drawn oval as the path I want the type to follow. Although I want the headline to be in the form of a smile, using the lower half of the oval, anywhere I start the typing on a path makes it go clockwise. My idea would work on the top half of the oval (frown), but not the bottom. How do I get the type to set left to right?

Somehow I just figured it out. Not very intuitive and I'm not sure I could do it again, but problem solved for now.

Glad it worked,

However this is what you could have tried or you might have tried :-

Go to Type-->Type on the Path -->Options..

Check the option of "Flip" in the dialog box..
