I have scoured the internet looking for some ways to implement rtree and full text search on SQLLite with Air havent come up with any solutions. There has been several postings on the archived forums requesting this feature and on the old ideas website archives as well.
At Adobe AIR version 2.0 some responses posted by Product Managers said that future releases would consider this. Isnt this a simple solution for a lot of people who have this issue ? Just a matter of changing the compile options for SQL lite that is included with Adobe Air !
Now the version is 3.3 and I still cant use FTS or RTree with the SQLLite embedded version which is key to working offline (for performing efficient searches and working with any kind of spatial data) .
Any ideas as to when this will be included in AIR?
I'll pass this along to the DB guys for their input, but I haven't heard of any work in this area recently. If this is something that is critical for you, you might consider going the route of a native extension.
I'd also recommend opening a new feature request for this at bugbase.adobe.com and passing the bug number along to others for their votes and comments.
