CS6 needs my Mac to be version 10.6, but mine's 10.5.8. What do I do?

Every time I try to install CS6 a small window pops up that says "We've encountered the following issues. OS does not meet the minimum system requirements for this installer. 10.6 is the minimum requirement for installation."

Is there a way to fix this?

What type of processor are you using?  Are you able to upgrade to 10.6?

I'm not sure. How can I check?

If you go under the Apple Menu and select About this Mac it will list the processor which you are using.  It might also be useful to discover how much RAM you have installed as well.

The processor is 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, and I have 8 GB of RAM.

Excellent then you should be able to purchase the upgrade for 10.6.
