Cannot scan in B&W (Custom Scan) with Hide Scanner's Native Interface set without the following error "Scanner doesn't allow setting color format. Switching to 'Show Scanners's Native interface' mode!" and Native interface appearing after which I can scan using the Native interface. Can scan in greyscale and color without the Native interface.
Basically i want to scan with just the Acrobat interface instead of the extra step of Scanner's Native Interface for B&W.
OS: Windows 7 64bit
App: Adobe Acrobat 9.0.0 to 9.4.0 standard
TWAIN: Fujitsu Twain 9.21.1013 and 9.21.1202
Scanner: Fujitsu fi-6130dj
Okay two really stange things
1. Greyscale and Color (Custom Scan or preset ones) work.
2. This is occuring in 3 PCs. A fourth PC I can scan in B&W NOW BUT it was giving me the same error and i upgraded TWAIN and Acrobat from 9.0.0 to 9.1.1 and played with the settings and somehow it works. I just havent been able to replicate this with the other PCS. All the PC are extactly the same Hardware and software wise.
any help or suggestion as i have tried every combination and uninstall and reboot etc.

I'm having the same problem with a fijutsu 6130 scanner- it started after one of the Acrobat Pro X updates. I suspect it is something in the update. Getting help from Acrobate on these issues is impossible. the new business model seems to be damn the consumer, we've got new versions to write and market.
fixed it by clicking on the "Options" button in the "Document Settings" section of the Custom Scan dialog (its the section at the bottom of the Custom Scan dialog - the "Options" button is in th middle right hand side of that thrid section.) Then under "Optimization Options" change the "Color/Greyscal" selction to JPEG. Mine waas set to "JPEG2000" and that was causing the problem.
