Adobe Community: why does lightroom 4 trial tell me insufficient permissions?

Where are you trying to download Lightroom too? Have you tried a different web browser? Which operating system are you using?

I am getting the same message. Using IE as usual. On Windows Vista. Very frustrating. Any sugestions? Have disabled pop up blcokers.

Joewh I would still recommend a different web browser to see if you face the same difficulties. Also where are you choosing to download the install files too?

OK Jeff I'll try that. Was downloading tot he download folder on the c drive.

I finally went to geek squad to see if I need more memory or hard drive or

something and they told me my computer was old enough that even if I did

that it probably wouldn't run right anyway.

Thank you for the update 46travels. Joewh this is a good point does your system meet the required system requirements listed at http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/tech-specs.html. I am unsure why this would cause an insufficient permissions error message when trying to download the software as it is a direct download. But it is certainly something to consider.

To clarify you do receive the insufficient permissions when you are downloading and not when you have initiated the installation of the software? Also are you able to download any other files successfully? There is nothing special about the Lightroom 4 download other than it is downloading an exe file under Windows. Are you able to download other exe files successfully?
