Can I create pdfs from Word with active hyperlinks in standard Acrobat?

It depends on the version of Acrobat and of WORD. If you gave that information, then an answer should be available. You can also check the feature list in the Acrobat Store at Adobe.

    Hi Todd,

If you convert your Word document to PDF using PDFMaker (which will install w/ Acro X Standard) to many versions of Word, hyperlinks will be active in the resulting PDF file.

As Bill said, what version of Acrobat Standard and what version of Office/Word do you have installed?

    Hi Todd,

PDFMaker is a Windows-only feature and unfortunately, there is no Acrobat Standard for Mac, only Acrobat Professional.

However, the attached document was authored in Word 2011 for Mac.  I converted it to PDF via File > Print > PDF > Save as Adobe PDF (steps outlined here.).  The full URL was recognized by Acrobat after the conversion and is live.  The second line was a hyperlink setup in Word, but unfortunately was not recognized since that data was not included in the PDF conversion nor is it an obvious link.  That said, you could use the 'Link' tool in Acrobat after the conversion to re-create that hyperlink.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

    -David

It won't show up on the email notification, but if you go to the forum thread, you should see it there.

If you click on the top link in Adobe Reader, you'll be asked if you want to go to the destination.  The reason there's no mouse-over change is due to Reader's Protected Mode.

So on a 79 page document, I have to find every link that was made in the Word document that Acrobat didn't recognize? Is this the only solution to _click here_ type of text?
