Keyboard symbols not working in type tool.

I can't insert certain symbols with the text tool. When I type "&" it inserts a "/" and when I type "/" it inserts a "-". I know for a fact it's not my keyboard because it works in any other text editor or text field. Is this just some new weird setting in photoshop cs6?

    What version of Photoshop is it the same in every Font?

    Textsym.jpg

    If so try resetting your Photoshop Preferences.

    It's CS6 and yes, it's the same in every font.

    Make sure your device drivers for your display are the latest and reset your preferences the above text was entered in Windows & Photoshop CS6 64Bit

    Hello, are you using a localized (non-english) os or version of Photoshop?

    did you try to reset the type tool by right-clicking on the text presets icon on the option bar (the first icon on the left side of the option bar)
