I installed OSX 10.8 today from the Apple app store. After installing Dreamweaver needed a Java runtime update before it would open. Since then I've not been able to connect FTP. When I press the 'Connect to remote server' button it won't connect. The button just bounces and remains off.
Anybody else experienced this?
For my workflow 'upload on save' is one of the most useful features DW has. I use it to update CMS templates and CSS in realtime. Saves me a load of time. I get the benefits of coding in DW with the speed of working directly on CMS templates through a browser.
Still none the wiser why the connection button is malfunctioning...
I have a few FTPS connections setup in my DW at the moment with 10.8 no issues.
What type of FTP connection?
Click on Site->Advanced->FTP Log. Is there anything in the log when you try to connect?
Hi, Sorry for delayed reply – I've been away for a couple of days.
Host is Vidahost
Type of FTP connection is straight FTP. I.e. not SFTP or any other type on the drop down list. Connection works fine when I test it under manage sites > servers.
FTP Log is totally empty when clicking the connect button but logs a successful connection when testing as above through manage sites.
OK. This is now resolved. Have just spent a couple of hours screenshare with an Adobe rep. It turned out to be a corrupted plist file.
This was the culpret: com.adobe.dreamweaver12.plist
Perhaps this thread will help someone in future. Certainly save a load of time.
I deleted the above file, rebooted DW and all was fine again.
