PostScript Error

I have a user who uses CS5 and they are getting a postscript error when trying to make PDFs. It’s telling them to turn off the “rely on system fonts only” setting. I double checked that it’s still unchecked, and it is unchecked. Any thoughts?

 

This does not happen for all jobs.

    Is there a reason for not exporting to PDF instead of distilling?

    The recommended method of producing PDF files from InDesign is using the export  funtion, not distilling PostScript files (such as you do when you print to the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver instance). No stink'in PostScript when you export and this particular problem is totally bypassed!

    I watched the user and they were doing a print to PDF. That is when the error occurs.

    So the question remians, WHY is the user printing to PDF instead of exporting?

    Printing to PDF is the same as printing to postscript and distilling.

     

     

     

    Use the export function instead!
