CS 5.5 to CS6 Mapkey import - I still cannot find my custom .KYS file on my Mac

I have created a custom Mapkey config and have done a search in spot light, gone to preferences>adobe>premeire pro>5.5 and still cannot find any .kys file for premeire pro.

Very frustrating that we STILL cannot export the custom MAPKEY to where we wish or to be able to find it on my Macpro.

Is there something that im doing wrong?

It's unlikely to appear in Spotlight. The location is ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Premiere Pro/[version number].

Note that the user's Library directory doesn't appear on Lion or Mountain Lion but you can get to it by Option-clicking the Go menu in Finder.

Alternatively, Preference Manager can be used to back up and transfer keyboard layouts to another computer:

Here's an easy way to find it, should you forget where it is:  Quickly create a bogus new Keyboard set in Pr.  Name it something unique, like "Madonna."  Open (the free app) EasyFind, and search your boot disk for/in invisible files and folder for "Madonna."  There it is.

EASYFIND APP great quick app to find stuff that isnt in showing up in finder.

Seems like there should be a FINDER preference setting for hidden files.

It should be obvious that Apple makes files invisible because messing with them could seriously screw things up.  Apple is busy dumbing down their OS as much as possible, to be acceptable to a wider range of computer illiterates.

I think you can use IceClean or Onyx or some terminal command to show all invisible files.  But, be careful what you wish for.  It won't be pretty.
