It states in the terms and conditions, on-screen instructions, a photoshop cs5.5 license can be used to apply to the cs6 version of photoshop but it shows as invalid.
Is there a link to photoshop cs5.5 extended if this is incorrect?
Regards.

P. S. My computer is an individually self-made industry standard computer with over 3 terabytes HDD space and 16Gb RAM with 2 x 4600 Quadro Nvidia graphics cards for specific design work and is running windows 7 Professional and a windows 8 evaluation copy, so I do have a system running well over the stated specifications, the installation was quick but I am stuck with the serial number invalid issue.
Thank you.

By installation media I assume you mean both the software cd and serial number.
To answer, I do have an official code for Photoshop CS5.5 extended but it cam as part of a course package where i only needed the software downloaded from the internet so i could enter and register the serial code.
I am an art and animation student from the company www.train2game-online.com, which also re-distributes Autodesk software.
In that case I would
1) get in touch with your academy and see if they have updated their course-line to allow for the download of CS6 Extended at the time that your semester begins and
2) get in touch with Adobe's Education Store Customer Service to see if you met the requirements of obtaining the CS5.5 license after a certain date in the past but prior to the release of CS6. You see it's a certain window that you must fall into. If you obtained the license too far in the past then it won't be valid for CS6 but your school should make accomodations for you if they expect you to complete the course work.
You're welcome. BTW, I think you might face issues if you switched computing platforms between the time that you got your CS5.5 license and your current request for a CS6 license. Hopefully you will have stayed with either Mac or Windows but not crossed over from one to the other.
