adobe audition 3.0 superior drummer fix

Apr 21, 2012 8:25 PM

well it only took me 3 weeks to finaly get the superior drummer, NY-avatar up and making sounds!!! I had help from one awesome person from finnland who sent me screenshots and held my hand thru the whole ordeal... I would have NEVER figured it out if not for him...anyone who is new to this DAW work, needs a STEP BY STEP process...In the toontrack folder in the WIN 7  [x86[ file, each [correct ] file had to be individually  added in the add/remove  VST directory...  and one in the sequencer...toontrack DID NOT tell me this untill almost 3 weeks later!!!! it seems TOO EASY for them just to put instructions in a brand new settup superior drummer 2.0 first time settup...STEP BY STEP... see a new guy like me dosen't know the difference between EZ drummer, superior drummer, NY-avatar , mid file upgrades, sounds folders,  they are awesome sounding...it just would have been SOOOO MUCH EASIER, with better support...maybe someone should do a stickie in the [ADOBE]  forum  so it wouldnt be so tuff and difficult...I had to join about 5 forums just to find out how to get this thing working ' and then got scolded here' for asking something in the 5.5 forum, because I was desprate, ...gary

The forum software doesn't do 'stickies' as such - there's just the FAQ forum. The huge snags with putting up step by step instructions for the installation of software here are: 1) somebody has to have the software in the first place, learn how to install it, and then turn it into a reliable set of instructions, and 2) that there are so many bits of software that this might apply to, that nobody would really know where to start. The other thing about 1) that makes it relatively unlikely to happen is that when you've finally got it installed, you are more likely to want to use it than write a set of comprehensible instructions!

But having read through your post, I think that your major gripe is with the drum software manufacturer, who seems to forget that not everybody knows that DLLs have to be in a specific place to be discovered by a DAW, and that the list has to be refreshed before they'll be discovered.
