Hello. I just installed dreamweaver for the first time and I've noticed that all of my HTML icons are gone. Each HTML file now shows a blank white paper looking icon. Is this normal? Did I do something wrong when installing this program?
Everything seems to work right but I wanted to know for sure before I went any further.
Thanks in advance!
@Nancy, I'm using windows 7 64 bit. When I click the files they open like normal. I hadn't experienced an issue yet when I use them. Previous to the install my html files had icons. After install they are just blank. I hadnt changed browsers or browser settings.
@mytaxsite.co.uk, I double checked those settings and everything seems fine. I use firefox nearly 100% of the time.
Since there doesnt seem to be a problem using my files and no one has expressed a major concern I'll assume that everything is ok for now. It caught me off guard so I wanted to make sure before I went any further.
Let me know if you have anyother suggestions otherwise THANKS a bunch for your time on this. ![]()
Which icons are you referring to?
If you mean the icon next to the web address in the browser address bar (known as a Favicon) then mytaxsite's advice is good.
If you mean the icons when viewed in Windows Explorer (when viewing HTML files on your hard drive) then those are set at the operating system level by Windows.
In Windows 7: Start > Default Programs > then either Set Your Default Programs choose Firefox, or Associate a file type with a program
