The heading of your post refers to Elements 8, but in the text you reference Elements 10.

Is the problem that the catalog which you access in the Organizer in v.10 does not open the picture files?

Please clarify with more specificity.

Hello,

Thanks for responding. I had elements 8 before the system recovery but I can not find my disk to download it back to my pc . Today I downloaded Elements 10 thinking that I could pull up my art work with that program also. I can see the files but not the artwork that I saved in elements 8.

When you try to open a picture file in PSEv.10, what happens? What do you see? Do you get an error message?

What is the artwork that you can't pull up? What does this mean? What kind of files are the artwork files? JPEG TIFF PNG??????? How are you trying to "pull them up"? Tell us step-by-step.

You say that you see files but not artwork.

Can you post a screen shot of what you see on your monitor?

Are you working in Editor or Organizer?

The artwork are images that I screen print on t shirts. I can see the labeled folder but when I click on the folder there is nothing there. Some of the files are jpg and some are png . I am working in editor.

At this point we have established :

You have installed PSEv.10 on your computer
You have a labeled folder, but the artwork files are not in this folder

In your initial inquiry, you stated that you backed up the files to your external drive prior to the system recovery. Have you searched this drive?

Why was it necessary for HP to do a system recovery?

Can you open other files on your computer?

Thanks for your help. A friend of mine has my elements 8 sd card and I will see what happens when I download it again. Because I did backup my pc to my external hard drive, all of the files should transfer. I hope so....Thanks again.
