Spelling error

Jul 28, 2012 6:08 PM

hello forum.

its a while since i wanted to ask why indesign sees this as a spelling error.

but when i insert a space between the fullstop and the capital letters it shows it correct.

thank you.

I'm afraid I don't see the problem. You need a space after a fullstop.

Without the space ID see a single word with the punctuation and capital in the middle, and it knows that can't be right.

I was taught you always leave a space, and I've never seen anything in English that didn't (I think there are some oriental languages that do not). More than one space was an old typewriter habit for many (to make the space after puntuation more prominent in the monospaced typing environment) but it has never been correct, as far as I know, in real typesetting.
