I'm having some difficulity with the slideshow module. I've not played with this section too much, and I need to prepare for a live-show presentation where I'll need to output a slideshow of photos that were being taken barely 30-40 minutes before my turn, per the live-show's schedule.
I've been given a preselected audio track which I need to time my presentation to. Which sounds like the perfect job for the "Fit To Music" button in the playback section. Problem is, it doesn't seem to work quite right.
I've selected about 50 images into a collection to do some testing with on my MacBook Pro. Created my Slideshow, selected my music track, and clicked the fit to music button. But when the slideshow gets to the end of the music, ( about 3 minutes 14 seconds ) there are still 3 or 4 slides left to play. So Lightroom re-starts the music track, continues through the last 3 slides and then fades out the music on the last slide. That can't be right. I double checked the track to make sure it's not false ending embedded into the track. It's fine. So this seems to be LR's doing.
I do not have the repeat option turned on. Random order is also off. Am I missing something here? Or is Lightroom not quite doing it's math right? Why is it not syncing the last slide with the end of the music?
With 49 images (yea I was one image short but that's fine, the final photo tally is really unknown until the event and it could vary greatly. ) I have the slide timing currently set 3 seconds an image with a fade time of 1.5 seconds. This is per the Fit To Music Button.
As far as i know, this is still a bug. I had to screw around with it for quite a while to get it to a point I was happy with during my event. But it wasn't perfect. Definitely took me more time then it should have, had this feature worked properly.
When it does, it will be great!
