Yes, it is a scanned document, converted from Word to PDF. I am trying to upload paperwork for prospective employers, and I need to condense 3 files of about 2.2 MB each into two files of <4 MB each. It will accept no more than 2 files.
Rescan the documents at a lower resolution and scan greyscale rather than color. This should shrink the pdfs considerably. Many Scanners come with graphics programs that can convert the scans you have already made, but if not as Pat mentioned Acrobat can do this for you.
