When trying to use photomerge, Photoshop (CS 5.5 version) quits immediately. How can I fix it?
I seem to remember that there have been several threads on issues with Photomerge, have you done a Forum search?
And you may want to provide more information, OS, reports, …
Boilerplate-text:
Are Photoshop and OS fully updated and have you performed the usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs by keeping command-alt-shift/ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting Photoshop after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance, cleaning caches, font validation, etc.)?
Sorry, no. I am a first-timer here. How would I do the search best? As for the information details: I am using a WINDOWS7 operating system with Adobe CS 5 Standard Edtion. When trying to start Photomerge (either form PS or BR) the pop-up immediatly appears that Photoshop does not work properly and is looking for a solution. That changes into the information, that the program will not work properly and I should get an information, if/when the bug is fixed.
That does not help in any way. What can I do?
Regards,
Jens
Make sure you have a HUGE amount of free space on your scratch drive, especially if your panoramas are large.
There's a Photoshop error log file you might find more info on why it's crashing in PSErrorLog.txt. It's in different places on different systems. On a Windows 7 system it's here:
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings\PSErrorLog.txt
