Going by the folders used by Windows computers and just about every program I have ever used, files are normally listed like this when sorted by name:
atari-2600-memories-et.html
atari-2600-memories-et-appreciation.html
atari-2600-memories-et-cake.html
atari-2600-memories-et-manual.html
atari-2600-memories-et-map.html
atari-2600-memories-et-tips.html
I like that order and depend on it. The main page with the shorter file name is always at the top. But with Dreamweaver CS6, the order is like this:
atari-2600-memories-et-appreciation.html
atari-2600-memories-et-cake.html
atari-2600-memories-et-manual.html
atari-2600-memories-et-map.html
atari-2600-memories-et-tips.html
atari-2600-memories-et.html
The main page is oddly listed at the bottom. Please don't tell me to click on Local Files to reverse the order. It would fix one small problem and mess everything else up. Is there a real way to make the shorter file name come first like it should?
Thanks.

Dreamweaver Files panel logically lists files/folders alphabetically in either ascending or descending order. There's nothing you can do to change that.

Thanks. Is there any way to contact the Dreamweaver programmers and ask them why their files are listed differently than 99.9 percent of other programs and computer folders? I'm guessing Dreamweaver isn't ignoring the .html part, so dashes are being listed before the period.
I doubt they'll explain why. It's worked this way for as long as I've been using the product when Macromedia still owned it. But feel free to file a feature request:

Thanks. I'll do that right now. Below is what I submitted. My explanation seems a little convoluted, but it was the best I could do.

Brief title for your desired feature:
Files Panel Name Order
How would you like the feature to work?
The Files panel needs to ignore the period in a file name.
Going by the folders used by Windows computers and just about every program I have ever used, files are normally listed like this when sorted by name:
atari-2600-memories-et.html
atari-2600-memories-et-appreciation.html
atari-2600-memories-et-cake.html
atari-2600-memories-et-manual.html
atari-2600-memories-et-map.html
atari-2600-memories-et-tips.html

atari-2600-memories-et-appreciation.html
atari-2600-memories-et-cake.html
atari-2600-memories-et-manual.html
atari-2600-memories-et-map.html
atari-2600-memories-et-tips.html
atari-2600-memories-et.html
The main page is oddly listed at the bottom. I'm guessing that Dreamweaver isn't ignoring the .html part, so dashes are being listed before the period.
Why is this feature important to you?
I have different sections of my web site and the shorter name is always the main page for that section. I depend on the main page being listed at the top of each section. I have pages in each section that I don't usually need to upload that are listed at the bottom of each section because I use the letter z. Since Dreamweaver is listing my main page below the rarely uploaded pages, it makes it harder to work on my web site.
Thanks.
