IPAD 2-3 Asset?

Question: if you have a pinch and zoom or pan and zoom image set for ipad2 2000x2000px and you want to take advantage of the retna displa yon the ipad 3 would that asset be 4000x4000px even though the dps help document says 2000px is the max.???

    Both the new iPad and the DPS viewers handle memory-intensive overlays better, so the help document should be updated. A 4000x4000 pan and zoom image might perform well on the iPad 3, but make sure that you test it.
