My company works at events where people pay a deposit and then the balance before the event. I wanted to use the loyalty based email to send emails to clients who still have a balance about 10 days prior to their event.
When you create an email campaign and choose the one off Email Blast you can choose recipients from a customer report. This would be great, because I created a customer report that shows any clients with a remaining balance. However, when you choose loyalty based email campaign, you can no longer choose to have them go to recipients in a customer report. This would be extremely useful, because I could set it up to email clients 10 days before their event date, but only if they are in the report for clients with a remaining balance.
My gut feeling is that this simply isn't possible with the system right now. But if anyone knows a work around, or it can be suggested for an update then this post shall not be in vain.
Hi Sidney, thanks for the reply. I already looked into going the route you suggested, but it still wouldn't be a truly automated solution. If I export the customers from my custom report into a mailing list, they would remain in that list unless I manually removed them. So let's say I export my list of people with balances in January, and then before their event in June a bunch of them send in their final payment. My mailing list won't know that, and so they'll still get a reminder to pay their final balance.
So the only way for this to truly be automated would be if the list of recipients automatically removed people if their Order Status is set to "Final Payment Received."
For the time being I can add them to a new mailing list as you have suggested, and take an extra step to remove them from that list at the same time that I am changing their order status when they send in their payment.
