Larry, thanks for your quick reply. The white stag line segment and the green circle are in the same layer; the white stag is on top of the green circle.
Also, if I combine the white stag and the green circle, the white stag still disappears. Here is a screen capture of the image with the layer panel.
What appearance settings are present for the circle and stag? The grey, solid, dot to the right of the layer name indicates there's some Appearance option set for that layer/object. This may be a simple matter of incorrect blending modes being set.
I too would suspect the overprint of the stag. White tends to overprint, which will cause items to disappear when printed or when using Safe for Web (Unless overprint preview is turned on).
Hi Larry, I'm a newbie, of course. I created the group for the line segment to avoid editing it accidentally. When I remove the overprint, the white stag image is now visible on save. Thanks for solving my problem. Do you know why the overprint was an issue? Brian
See my post above.. white objects can mistakenly overprint. This causes them to drop off when printed or using Save for Web. Whenever you ahve a white object, you'll want to check the overprint settings.
