Delaying a View Transition

How do I delay the transition from view A to view B in a ViewNavigator? I want to prevent the transition just after view B has completed its creation complete handler, pause the app while I run some code in view B, and then play the transition afterwards.

 

How do I go about doing this? Do I need to use a preventDefault method of an event, or something like that?
