Dreamweaver 6 corrupts files when uploading via Dreamweaver ftp tool

When I use Dreamweaver to upload a file very often something gets corrupt. Javascript ceases to work. The page runs locally and javascript works. The file is fine when I upload with a different ftp tool (fetch, Transmit, etc).

 

When I view the source of the non-working file the code looks all garbled.

 

When I upload the file witha diftterent ftp tool, all is well.

 

Never saw this before. What's up?

 

Using Mac, Lion, latest versions.

    Have you installed the 12.0.1 update which Adobe says addresses some FTP issues?

    Hi John

    Just installed the upgrade but no change. I'm having to upload all my scripts with another ftp tool or CS5.

    Got any links to files that we can take a look at?

     

    I've never experienced this before on Win 7 or Mac OSX.

     

    Which flavour server are you uploading to? Linux?

    I did the update on Mac, no dice. The same ftp problem also exists on Windows. This needs to be fixed now.

    Can you be more specific about how exactly the page is "garbled"?

    Perhaps you could attach a screenshot to illustrate the issue.

     

    Also, do you have any info about your web server's configuration? e.g., operating system, server software, etc.

    In my case, the files are not mangled but rather, the ftp on both Mac and Windows no longer works. On earlier versions of Dreamweaver, this is not the case. HTH

    How does the FTP no longer work?  I mean, what happens when you try?  My CS6 connects without issue on both Mac and W7.

     

    Is this true for all sites on both platforms for you?

    The js is a simple date script I've been using for years.

     

    Check out the formatting change after the upload with CS6 - This ONLY happens with CS6.

     

    Server - Linux,  apache 2.2.22

     

    Local - iMac 2.8ghz core i7 OS 10.8

    In your preferences, what is your Line Break type set to (look under Code Format)?

     

    Here is a link to your script that is uploaded with CS6 to a Linux server (Apache version is irrelevant).  My Line break type is Windows.

    Line break in both CS5 & CS6 is CR (Macintosh) as it always has been.

     

    This seems to be an issue with Mac version of CS6 - the files upload perfectly well in CS5 and other ftp tools Transmit & Fetch

    Try setting your linefeed to Unix.

    That seems to have worked, though I had to edit and save the script.

     

    Can you tell me what happended there and why only in CS6?

     

    Thanks for your help - I will try with some more complicated scripts and let you know what happens!

    A Macintosh line break is just a single Line feed chr(10), a Unix line break is a single carriage return chr(13).  Why this worked in CS5 as a Macintosh line break and not in CS6 escapes me.  My Mac is set to Unix breaks and has been like forever.  I dunno....

    Thanks for the tip. I was also set to Macintosh. I changed to Unix and resaved a script and it so far seems to have solved the problem. I'll keep testing. Hopefully I can start to use the Dreamweaver FTP tool again.

     

    But for the record I was also having this problem in CS5 (although less consistently).

    I am experiencing a similar issue with mac os - set to Linux line feed.   I cahnceged it to MacIntosh.   I hope this helps in the future.

    However, the local fils edited and uploaded have the top navigation broken now - i think it is a spacing issue.  not sure how to correct
