Hi j.roskowske,

You can do this, yes. Here's an example.

I've created the menu manually, and set the Item Size to: Fit Width, then adding sub menu items allows you to set their size as you need. Screenshot with the options used for this menu can be found here, and regarding the left align, you can control where the items display playing around with the indent for the text as you can see here.

The problem is that I have over 250 pages on this site. Going through and doing a manual menu would take forever. If you can uncheck Edit Together, why does it still edit them all?

I'm hoping to avoid doing one manually. At that point, it'd almost be easier to write the code (especially since I already did on our current site).

Hey j.roskowske,

You don't have to do it manually indeed. (It appears that I had a problem with the instalation of Muse last time I tried to build the scenario)

Have a look at the following short recording that shows the menu set as "Fit Width" and you can adjust the sub-menu items as you like them.

Adjusting the size of the containers for the sub-menu items is not the problem. I've been able to do that just fine. That's not what my problem is though.

I want to be able to have them all on the left side of the container rather than centered. I can't seem to find how to do that without messing up the top layer of my menu.

Sorry 'bout that. I've got it wrong from the first post.

I've recorded another short session showing how to move/align the items to the left and you can see it here. At least this can be done.

Actually, that doesn't fix it for me. I tried that. Unfortunately, my sub-menu titles aren't all the same amount of characters. So, how do I get the first letter for all to line up without going through each item manually and making it look close?

Please ignore the above method if you have different lenghts for the menu items.

This is the best method of all: you select one sub menu item and click on it until you get to the "Text Frame" level (you will see in my recording exactly what I mean). Have a look at this recording.

Regarding the link to an item that you need someone to download, if it's an item from your menu, then select the item and change the field next to "Hyperlink" (screenshot).

I hope this will help you sort out these issues.

That should hep me on the drop down menu stuff. I'll have to try it in a little bit. I had to switch to CAD stuff for now.

However, the link that I need isn't something that is in the layout of the site. I have files that need to be linked (PDF, CAD) throughout the site. Some of these need to be linked in the menu, others will just be on pages. However, I don't see where to link to something that's not actually in the .muse file for the site.

I was hoping to not have to do it this way. That's ok I guess. I was just hoping for some sort of file manager like in Dreamweaver.

I guess some sacrifices must be made for me to avoid using code.

I'm still having issues...

It appears that the text frame is only large enough to accomodate the text so it is a different size for each item. Even when left aligned, the text frame is not moving for me. The text moves within the frame, but the frame is still centered.

Aloha, I was wondering whether this problem has a fix yet, as I have the same problem with my submenus NOT aligning left. I have tried the solutions on this page but to no avail.
