Why doesn't Muse want to launch (says I'm not connected, when I am!)

Nope...but I have the same problem - I have to restarr OSX in order to launch MUSE...

You should try the troubleshooting steps posted in this thread,
"An unexpected error occur processing your request." when launching Muse.
