Issue with text-frame-as-button

I'm building a DPS magazine and one of our articles has a button that brings up a caption.

 

There is a button that brings up the caption, and the caption's text frame is a button  that when clicked, will hide itself.

The problem though is the text frame. As a button, the text apears to be there twice, like there are two lawers offset by a few pixels (even though there is only one). It is especially obvious when you pinch&zoom.  It doesn't appear this way  when it's not a button though.

 

Any insight?
