colors in website

In a tutorial I found on the web( http://www.webdesignfromscratch.com/web-design/colour/ ) it is mentioned that a good website must make use of sufficient quantites of color.

 

I assume that it means colors other/besides than grey/black/white.

 

Am I correct in my assumption?

    I read it that way too, Dimitri.

     

    But it seems rather restrictive to me, as do many other guidelines.

     

    I believe you can jump and fly.

    I dont think so they are perticularly highlighting on the colours grey/black/white.They just want to highlight that the colour contast should be wisely chosen.Intense colours should be used because too many intense colours attract the eye in too many directions.

    So you are saying,in other words-if I understood it correctly- that when using intense colors we must be carefull, cause if not used wisely

    will confuse and distract the user.
