Currently Being Moderated

cant import illustrator file

I’m unable to import an illustrator file that I exported from CorelDRAW. However it opens fine in adobe illustrator, see the gif animation and the attached file.

I suspect the AI file from CorelDRAW is not PDF compatible. Only AI files with PDF compatibility will work with InDesign.

Have you tried resaving in Illustrator?

that did it. . wish corel guys would make a better ai file export

The file works fine in AI, right. It's using the AI native file structure. As mentioned above, ID requires the PDF portion of a combined AI file.
