Once I hit SHIFT + RETURN, I can never get back !!!

Once I hit SHIFT + RETURN, I can never again get that little backwards "P" to come back at the end of "lóngius" ??

 

HERE is a picture:

Can somebody help me?  How do I get the backwards "P" back at the end of of "lóngius" ??

    Shift+ Return is a force line break. To get a paragraph return, delete the line break and enter a return.

    When I do that, it creates a BIG INITIAL CAPITAL

    You need to change the "next Style" on that paragraph style, or something, so it doesn't add the drop cap. This is purely a paragraph formatting issue.

    Big Capitals are termed Drop Caps, tyically one character.

    Change either that 2 in the Paragraph Panel, or choose a different Paragraph Style
