Viewing in Acrobat X vs. Acrobat 9

When viewing a document on my monitor using Acrobat 9 Pro, the colours are quite good; when doing the same with Acrobat X Pro, the colours are somewhat dull and dark, particularly the reds.

WHY; how does one fix this?

(I am using a hardware calibrated monitor, looking at a Gretagmacbeth ColorChecker image; colours render well in Lightroom and Photoshop, and quite well in Acrobat 9 Pro — Acrobat X Pro is the real problem. What have I missed?)
