MySQL Connection

I get an unidentified error when creating a database connection in DW 6. This is when using a login form to establish a Database connection to a remote server DB. I can establish a localhost connection, but not a remote connectionI have the same settings in DW5.5 and it works!

    ok i have the ever humble dreamweaver 8 and i did the sawmac tutorials for the dynamic pages php yada yada.... got my xampp have phpmyadmin and a passcode even for "root"

     

    now the tutorIal site connected.... url test passed.   the phpmyadmin little test site connected... url  test passed.  i put up a couple tables name them set permissions as "root" for them.... set the site to the same parameters as the previous two successful ones and ..... url test EPIC FAIL.

     

    you're having the same problem with newer versions that evidently can mange servers.... (boy dont i wish i knew where that was in DW8!) 

     

    HEY ADOBE.......  what gives!!!!!?????    exasperated customers want to know.

     

    Unfortunately aside from maticulously comparing site set ups between sites that connected andone that dont....  i can only wonder if you have user permission via you OS.... (mine is xppro via virtualmachine) i know for the asp pages tutorial i had to get a certain guest internetuser to be given full allowance on my computer.  Otherwise see if the software points to your server?  one may be seen and the other not.....  i just added my voice to yours.
