AE CS6 Screen Flicker after every edit attempt

IN AE, CS6, every time I make the slightest change to a layer, the screen starts flikering.  I see whatever is behind the AE window on the desktop, flickering through the AE interface, and it continues until I hit the Maximize or Restore button on the Windows bar at the top.

Also, its terribly slow to update every time I do anything.  The program is practically unusable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a link to a video

My system information is below.  I just installed this GeForce GTX 580 card.

BUT THE PROBLEM WAS VISIBLE ON MY PREVIOUS CARD, which was a punky little Geforce 8500GT.

I am able to see the GPU as a renderer, so I think its working as it should.

I'm not sure why its showing NO system memory.  I have 8 GB installed, and have 6 GB allocated to AE.

There are two actions you can take immediately.  Since the card is brand-new, double check on the NVidia web site to make sure the very latest drivers are installed.  You should also double-check to make sure your version of AE is fully updated.

Since AE primarily uses your machine's procesor(s) and RAM, you should also go to Control Panel>System & Security>System and tell us about the procesor and installed memory.  Please report back.

What Dave said. Always the first thing to do. Also check the stuff I wrote here.
