Links Won't Work

I am new to the whole Flash world, so PLEASE bear with me.

I was in charge of creating a flash movie for my work for a touchscreen monitor that would be placed in myh workplace's atrium. The developing of this went great, up until I tried to put it on the touchscreen monitor (which runs on Windows 7).

The links will pull up links to partner websites on the original computer it was developed on (just like it's supposed to), but it won't do it on the new computer. It's an SWF file being played on the Standalone Flash Player (Projector).

Was there something that was lost in translation to computers? Any suggestion of what I can do?

How are the links created? HTML in a StageWebView? Links made in a TextField? Buttons programmed to use navigateToURL?

Is this Windows or Mac?

Windows, for example, lets you set what program is used by default for any specific task. As long as something is set as the default browser for the system it should pop up.

If it's a Mac I've noticed odd limitations, like Mouse.hide() doesn't work for projectors. I've seen posts before of people executing .sh scripts just to get Mac projectors to properly load a link in Safari.

Not that this pertains to your issue but are you letting your app run in the background while a person opens a "new default browser window"? What happens if they start clicking random ad links and get off onto a site you don't want them to and walk away from the touchscreen? If a browser window opens and your projector is not specialized to fullscreen "always on top" how are you successfully hiding the OS bars from the user? Just curious.
