Lyrics animation

I am trying to create an animation where an mp3 file plays and the screen updates with the lyrics. I did it successfully and brought it in as a video, but there must be a better way to do this and stay as vectors.

The obvious advantage being file size and the crispness of the text.

I tried Edge, but that couldn't import sound. I tried using flash then using Wallaby to convert, but that didn't work either.

Any ideas?

Have you taken a look in the Edge forums? You could also try asking around there, they might know a thing or two about this.
