"ERROR: The username you have chosen already exists."

When someone signs up on my registration form (http://puremediccom.worldsecuresystems.com/puremedic-guru-register) with a username that already exists, the form is submitted but in the workwlow notification I see behing username "ERROR: The username you have chosen already exists.". When trying to log in on the website it doesnt work indeed.

Is the best way around this to ask for an email address as a username? Or is there a way to run validation on existing username?

Hi Jerun,

I believe the workaround in this case if needing email address to match username is to use some JS.

Please note custom scripting is outside BC scope but here's an example that may help.

Only occurs if the email has already been used. Different customers with different emails currently can share the same username.
