Not a Mac guy but your fix seems intriguing.  Is what you described simple enough for other Mac users to follow?  Specifically Is ONY--X a Mac product and rebuilding Launch Servies a slam dunk?  If not can you provide more details for the users.

That does it!  If this is the direction Apple is going, I have definitely bought my last Mac.

This is just disgusting!  

You just have to select in prefereces to allow non Apple store software to run on your machine.

Same thing is happening to me.. did you find a solution?

ONYX only worked for a short time for me, then back to crashing everytime.

Resetting the preferences, as you suggested, worked for me, too.

Don't know if this is the case with you, but if I start Bridge first, without downloading photographs, it seems to stay on. Downloading photos may cause a crash, but MAC's image acquisition program works beautifully, and will send things to whatever folder you want.

My Intel iMAC is 2007 or thereabouts, so I don't know whether MAC will be interested in finding a fix for iMAC + ML, but, hopefully, Adobe will.

Not a Mac user but if I were I would wait until Apple debuged M. Lion before upgrading.

Have you made your user Library-folder visible in Finder?

I did that in the Terminal and shortly after that the crashes started for me.

I just updated to 10.8.2 and that made the user Library-folder invisible again.

At the same time Bridge started behaving properly.

Not saying that's anything other than a coincidence.

There's a way to access the Library, in finder click on the 'Go' drop-down menu.

Press the 'alt' key on the keyboard, and then the Library should show up.
