How can I keep Windows Live Photo Gallery as default?

I would only like to move the pictures I want to work on to Lightroom 3. When I put my SD card in all the pictures go directly to Lightroom, even though Windows Live Photo Gallery is my default.

Make sure there is no check in the box:

I could not open your link. Where is the box that can't contain the check? I uninstalled Lightroom until I can determine if I can get it to keep its mitts off my pictures when I download them to the computer.

Hal, Thank you! When I click on the link to view the full discussion I see the illustation. I presume this is in Lightroom? Where is the preferences link?
