I recently upgraded my trial version PE10. With the trial version, vidoe playback in the preview window or the monitor window worked fine (although it was a little choppy). Now that I entered a serial number, I have no video and only audio. Any suggestions for what might have changed? Based on other threads I tried updating my video drivers but am already using the latest version.

Is your computer connected to the Internet, and is that connection active?
There are several modules in PrE, that must be Activated over the Internet. Most things MPEG are part of those modules. The Activation is transparent and seamless, and the user never knows that it is taking place, but it is necessary to use all of those modules.

Yep. I'm connected. I created a project in the trial mode...video worked fine. Then I entered my serial number and restarted the same project...video was dead. Before this test I had actually also tried a complete reinstall and the issue persists. Thanks
I hope that someone else has an idea for you, as my next suggestion was going to be an uninstall/reinstall, but you have done that.
I have never used a trial, that was converted to full-paid, so am out of ideas.
Thanks for the attempt. I tried your second idea as well and it only seems to work for PE9.
Incidentally, I also tried removing the trial version and installing from disc and I had the same problem. Some setting must not agree with my PC.
