What about for CS 5.5? The folder names don't work -- when you get down to UI.InDesignPlugin there is no folder with that name, therefore I can't seem to locate the idrc_PNGA folder.

My mistake. I was looking for a folder called UI.InDesignPlugIn, not a folder called Application UI.InDesignPlugin.

The fix is working for me on a mid-2012 13" non-retina MacBookPro running 10.7.4 and Adobe InDesign CS 5.5.

    Thank you.

10.7.4 MacBookPro just purchased one week ago -- ID5 crashes when I try to Package anything. Will this fix that?!?!   Will there be an official software update for this issue soon???

Yes , It may work if you are having the same problem as others.

Our engineering team is looking for a simpler method to fix the issue but yet not sure that official software update will include the fix for this or not.

Will this workaround work with an older Mac? I'm having the same crash problem when trying to export a PDF in InDesign CS6. I am using a Mac, Software version 10.7.4, and early 2009 iMac. I rely on InDesign CS6 for my work daily and this is exasperating.

    @Robert,

Please post a separate thread about your problem. This fix is very specific to 2012 Macs.

Why in the world is this not just a standard update that could be applied using Adobe Application Manager? This kind of a fiddly fix seems amateur. :\

We are still working on getting it structured properly , this fixed has worked for the CS5 and CS5.5 but many people using CS4 are still facing the issue.

    I have Utilities.InDesignPlugin but no UI.InDesignPlugin

Also, within that folder, I seem to have no idrc_PNGA. I have idrc_BOSD, CLST, FACT, PVER, SCML AND VRLS but no PNGA.

    Ideas?

Look under "Application UI.InDesignPlugin" not UI..InDesignPlugin

Awesome. Thanks. However, you might want to put 'Application UI.InDesignPlugin' with quotes or something. My eye did not catch the 'Application' because of the space.

    Thanks again.

I did both solutions and still, it didn't work. inDesign CS 5.5 doesn't even open anymore.

I just bought a macbook pro and upgraded it to OS X 10.8

    What should I do?

Which solutions would that be? Did you follow the instructions at InDesign Help | InDesign Crashes with Blank Dialog Boxes on MacOS 10.7.4

What is happeing when you try to open ID CS5.5? Please be very specific.

Yes I did follow both solutions.

When I tried solution 1, it says "this updated is not needed for OS 10.8 or later".

And then, I tried solution 2. I followed the post exactly the way it explains. So what's wrong...

So I click on indesign, and then it takes a while to load, and then it quits.

    Then, this appears:

A "fun"? If you meant "fix," then not yet, as far as I've heard.

Yes, I meant fix. Another great thing about the new MBPro is the odd autocorrect.

I developed this Blank Dialogue Box just today.  Yesterday, ID worked fine.  I'm running ID CS6 on OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.1.

I went to the recommended FIX page and downloaded Fix #1:  CopyiconRsrcdePrimpt1.app.  BUT now this app won't open because "it came from an unidentified developer."  ...how now???

However, they seem to be working on it with Apple.  Meantime, I CAN get into ID by simply opening a previous file.  Everything works fine, except there is no dialogue box.  I'll wait for the update - but not too long.....

ok, help! I don't seem to have a folder at all for idrc_....

    I'm Applications/Adobe InDesign CS6/contents/MacOS/Required/Application UI.IndesignPlugIn/ Versions/A/Resources and all i have listed is:

    Application UI.rsrc

    Info.plist

    PkgInfo

I used the search tool on Finder for idrc to triple check myself, and the only thing it's finding are the fixes i just downloaded.

    help...
