How do I align 2 halves of a circle next to each other?

Hello,

 

Let's say I've cut a circle in half, and then placed both halves on either side of the art board.

Is there a way I can align them back right next to each other so that they appear as a circle once again?

 

None of the tools in the "align" window allow me to do that, it's frustrating...

    Grab the circle by one of its endpoints and move it to the corresponding endpoint until it snaps.

     

    You can also align and distribute. You need to distribute space "0"

    The second solution is what I was looking for because I want to make a macro to automate that task.

    Try hitting Ctrl+U to turn on point snap and snap the corner point of the halfs together.
