Administrator privilege are required to install Adobe Master CS5.5

Hi All,

 

This is Tom. I'm logged in as local administrator to Windows 7 64bit OS and everytime I tried to install CS5.5 Master I kept getting this message, "Administrator privilege are required to install". Do you have any suggestion? I can install any program but just not CS5.5.

    Did it ever show you a UAC prompt, requesting permission to escalate privileges?

     

    What happens if you try to install it by running the installer As Administrator?

     

    I suspect if this doesn't help you may have a permissions problem on a Users sub folder somewhere.  Do you dual boot, or have you done anything with multiple different user accounts?

    Hi Noel,

     

    Thanks for your reply.

     

    It did not show UAC prompt as I am running as a local admnistrator.

     

    It display the same message "Administrator privilege are required to install" when I am running the installer as administrator.

     

    I have two admnistrator accounts on my laptop, is it cause the issue? Or shoud I clean anything from the Registry?

     

    Appreciated if someone can help!

    Could be a permissions issue with one of the global shared or temp folders. The install log may reveal something abou that.

    You may not understand how UAC works.

     

    Running things when logged into an account in the Administrators group is not the same as running something As Administrator.   Right-click the installer file, and choose Run As Administrator.

     

    If this is what you have done, Mylenium's advice is indeed valid - see what's actually failing.

     

    You could also try installing via the other account on your system.

    Thanks for your advice.

     

    I could not find the log in "\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers", it only shows log file from my previous installation of Adobe CS3.

     

    I can see this file \Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp\PDApp.log with some errors like

     

    23:11:19 [ERROR] LWANative - OOBElib returned error: 34

    23:11:19 [ERROR] LWANative - OOBElib returned error: 47

    Hi Noel,

     

    Yes I did right cilck and run the installer as administrator. I tried the other account also got the same message "Administrator privilege are required to install". It's quite strange.
