Character styles within table styles

Hi everyone.

 

I have set up my tables so that every other row is a dark blue fill, but would like the text within them rows to consequently be white, with the ulternate rows being bloak text.

 

Not sure if I am able to do this quickly, at the moment I am creating the table then selecting every other rtow manaually to change to the required text style

    Should not be a problem to do this with cell styles in your table style.

    Hi Peter, I have played with the cell styles. In order to get to the text colour I had to set a paragraph style within a cell style, which I then hoped I could apply within the table style.

     

    However looking through the table styles all I can find is the option to apply this cell style to all the rows or the header and footer. I cannot set it to every other row, unless you know better? (Which no doubt you will!)

    To be honest, I hate working with tables and I've never gotten table styles to work in one of my own projects (but I know they do for a lot of people).

    @Garethirwin,

     

    That's correct. There is no option to apply a cell style to every other row within a table style. This may require the manual approach which you're already doing.

     

    I suspect it could be scripted, but I'm not a scripter, and couldn't help you with that.

    OK thanks for that. The cell styles is certainly a bit quicker, must spend more time in the manual!
