I added a few animations to my pages and they don't see to work during the desktop preview. Can anyone shed some light on this?
flash does not work in any way. convert to a movie if it is just an
animation or rebuild your interactive animation in adobe edge and reimport
as HTML. that's the way.

Flash is not supported by Apple, thus it does not work on iPad's and iPhones. Since the desktop preview is based on preview of the Folio as on a Tablet device, it does not work in desktop preview as well.
If you're committed to using the .swf files, check out Wallaby. It is a flash to HTML5 converter. It's not perfect but it's a workable workaround.

If you have Flash Pro CS6, you can use the CreateJS plugin to convert FLA files to HTML5.
