Shipping Option resets to none

We have a catalog with books and they are available for collection only so there is no charge for shipping.

 

We have a catalog with appareil and these are fixed price of $6 delivery.

CBook AND Appareil$6

 

I tried creating :

 

1. two shipping options (Standard and Pickup) with Standard only applying to appareil and Pickup only applying to books.  That satisfies rules A and B but C. fails are the shipping option gets set to $zero.

 

2. two shipping options (Standard and Pickup) with both applying to both catagories.  That satisfies rules A, B and C however when presented with the choice of $0 shipping, the customer automatically takes it (even when it is inappropriate) and we will have to chase them or post for free which is not acceptable.

 

I cannot see a way of doing this...  but surely it is possible?  Otherwise the eCommerce uses must be very limited.

 

Please help someone as we are running out of time and are wasting time and money trying to work round this...

    Probably your easiest way is to set your shipping by weight.

     

    Enter 0 weight for your books and 1 for your apperral.

     

    Set you shipping to be be added if weight is more than 0
